The height of so formed cylinder 'h' = 44 cm
and `2pi r = 44`
`rArr 2xx(22)/(7)xx r=4`
`rArr r = 7 cm`
`therefore` Curved surface area of cylinder `= 2pi rh`
`=44xx44cm^(2)`
`= 1936 cm^(2)`
and total surface area of cylinder `= 2pi rh+2pi r^(2)`
`=1936+2xx(22)/(7)xx7xx7 cm^(2)`
`=1936+308cm^(2)`
`=2244cm^(2)`
