What is the difference between coformation and configuration in open chain molecules?

Configurational Isomerism: (Optical and geometrical isomerism): These are the stereo - isomers which are discrete, stable and isolable substances. They cannot be inter-converted into one another without making and breaking of new bonds. These isomers cannot be superimposed on each other.
These isomers are further classified as enantiomers, diastereomers and geometrical isomers. Conformational Isomers: These are the stereo - isomers that easily convert into one another by the rotation around “C-C”-bonds. These are in dynamic equilibrium with one another and cannot be separated under ordinary conditions.
This type of isomerism is in alkanes such as n-butane.
