Write a not on :
Distillation

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Distillation : This process is useful for the purification of liquids contaminated with nonvolatile impurities. The impure liquid is boiled in a distillation flask and the vapours are condensed and collected in a receiver. This method can also be used to separate liquids if only their boiling points differ by above `40^(@)C.` However, in the case of liquids that have boiling point difference less than `40^(@)C` fractional distillation method is used.
