Is extra genomic DNA present in prokaryotes and eukaryotes ? If yes, indicate their location in both the types of organisms.

Yes, Extra genome DNA is present in prokaryotes and Eukaryotes. In Prokaryotes, extra genome DNA (plasmid) is present along with Nucleoid and floats freely with in the cytoplasm. In Eukaryotes well defined nucleus is present with specific number of chromosomes. But a extra genome DNA is present in cell organelles like Mitochondria and chloroplast. These two organelles and believed to have originally been independent prokaryotes.
