An electric iron has a rating of 750 W, 220 V. Calculate
(i) the current passing through it, and
(ii) its resistance, when in use.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Power, P = 750 W
Potential, V = 220 V
`:. I= (P)/(V)= (750W)/(220V)= 3.4A`
Now `V= IR` (Ohm.s Law)
`R = (V)/(I)= (220V)/(2.4A)= 64.7Omega`
