State how concentration of auxins stimulates the cells to grow longer on the side of the shoot which is away from the light

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When a growing plant detects light, auxin synthesises at the shoot tip to help the cells to grow longer. When light comes from one side, auxin diffuses towards the shady side of the shoot. This concentration of auxin stimulates the cells to grow longer on the side of the shoot which is away from light and plant appears to bend towards light.
