Normal cell does not show cancerous growth. Comment.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In our body, cell growth and differentiation is highly controlled and regulated. The cancer cell divides repeatedly with uncontrolled cell divisions. They do not require extracellular growth factors because cancer cell losses the property of contact inhibition (contact with other cells inhibits the uncontrolled growth). This repeated division of cancerous cells results in a large mass of cells. These cells get sloughed off from such tumours and reach distant sites through blood, where they start a new tumour.
