In asexual reproduction, a single individual (parent) is capable of producing offspring with or without the involvement of gametes. As a result, the offspring produced are identical to one another and also to their parent both genetically and morphologically and are known as clones.
Unicellular organisms reproduce asexually using following methods, Like binary fission (Amoeba), budding (yeast, Hydra), fragmentation (Spirogyra), sporulation (Penicillium), regeneration (Planaria), etc. This type of reproduction is facilitated by mitosis division.
