The dimensions of a cuboidal block are 2...

The dimensions of a cuboidal block are `2.5 m xx 2 m xx 1.2 m.` Its weight is 900 N. Find the minimum pressure exerted by the block on the surface of its support.

The correct Answer is:
The pressure exerted by the block on the support is 180Pa.

Here, weight = thrust = 900 N. dimensions are `2.5 m xx 2 m xx 12m`
`"Pressure "=("Thrust")/("Area")`
Pressure is inversely proportional to area. For the minimum pressure the area must be more. So, if the block is resting with `2.5 m xx 2m` surface on the support the pressure will be minimum.
Pressure `=(900N)/(2.5 XX 2.0m^(2))=180Pa`
