Prashant carried out an experiment to the relative density of salty water. His observations are as follows:
(i) The weight of iron block in air= 3500 N
(ii) The weight of the iron block in water =3000 N
(iii) The weight of the iron block in salty water =2960 N
What relative density of salty water did he find?

The correct Answer is:
Relative density of salty water is 1.08.

Loss of weight of iron block in salty water =(3500-2960) N= 540 N.
Loss of weight of iron block in water =(3500 -3000) N=500 N.
Relative density of salty water `=("Loss of weight of iron block in salty water")/("Loss of weight of iron block in water")`
`=(540 N)/(500N)=1.08`
