Solve for x and y , `x[{:(2),(1):}]+y[{:(3),(5):}]+[{:(-8),(-11):}]=0`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
x = 1 and y = 2

We have, `x[(2),(1)]+y[(3),(5)]+[(-8),(-11)]=O`
`implies [(2x),(x)]+[(3y),(5y)]+[(-8),(-11)]=O`
`:. [(2x+3y-8),(x+5y-11)]=[(0),(0)]`
`implies 2x+3y-8=0` (1)
and `x+5y-11=0` (2)
Solving equations (1) and (2), we get
`x=1` and `y=2`
