Ionic Solids. The ionic solids in which (+) ve and (-) ve species are bonded through ionic bonds and get dissociated into cations and anions, on dissolving in water, e.g. KCl, `MgCl_2` are ionic solids.
Covlaent Solids. The covalent-solids species are bonded through covalent bonds and do not completely dissociate, when dissolved in water, whereas pure ice (solid `H_2O`) and dry ice (solid `CO_2`) are covalent solids.
