The reactions of glucose with Sehiff.s reagent, sodium bisulphite 2,4-DNP & ammonia are reversible & hence open chain form always remains in equilibrium with the two cylcic hemiacetal forrns, As a result, these reagetion cannot disturb the equilibrium to generate more of open chain form from the cyclic herniacetal & so. do not react with glucose.
