An alloy is a homogeneous mixture of two or more metals or non-metals. It is prepared by blending the metals (and/or non-metal) in molten state. (1)
An important alloy containing lanthanoid metals (95%), iron (5%), traces of S, C, Ca and Al are misch metal. (1) Misch metal is used in Mg based alloy to produce bullets, shell and lighter flint.
