Let `v_(1)` be the `r.m.s` velocity at `S.T.P.(=273K`) and `v_(2)` be the `r.m.s` velocity at unknown temperature `T_(2)`.
`therefore (v_(1)^(2))/(v_(2)^(2)) = (T_(1))/(T_(2))`
or `T_(2) =T_(1)[v_(2)/v_(1)]^(2) = 273xx(2)^(2) = 273xx4`
`=1092 K = (1092-273) = 819^(@)C`

A metal is heated in a furnace where a sensor is kept above the metal surface to read the power radiated (P) by the metal. The sensor has scale that displays log_2,(P//P_0) , where P_0 is constant.
