A particle is revolving in a circle of radius 1 m with an angular speed of 12 rad/s. At t = 0, it was subjected to a constant angular acceleration alpha and its angular speed increased to (480/pi) rotation per minute (rpm) in 2 sec. Particle then continues to move with attained speed. Calculate (i) angular acceleration of the particle, (ii) tangential velocity of the particle as a function of time.

An electron moving with the speed 5 xx 10^6 m per second is shooted parallel to the electric field of intensity 1 xx 10^3 N/C. Field is responsible for the retardation of motion of electron. Now evaluate the distance travelled by the electron before coming to rest for an instant, (mass of e = 9.1 xx 10^(-31) kg)

A block of mass m = 20 kg is kept is a distance R = 1m from central axis of rotation of a round turn table (A table whose surface can rotate about central axis). Table starts from rest and rotates with constant angular acceleration, alpha = 3 rad//sec^(2) . The friction coefficient between block and table is mu = 0.5 . At time t = (x)/(30) from starting of motion (i.e. t =0) the block is just about to slip. Find the value of x (g = 10 m//s^(2))

A 1 kg block situated on a rough incline is connected to a spring constant 100 Nm^(-1) as shown in figure . The block is released from rest with the spring in the unstretched position . The block moves 10 cm down the incline before coming to rest . Find the coefficient of friction between the block and the incline .Assume that the spring has a negligible mass and the pulley is frictionless.

Figure shows a metal rod PQ resting on the smooth rails AB and positioned between the poles of a permanent magnet. The rails, the rod, and the magnetic field are in three mutual perpendicular directions. A galvanometer G connects the rails through a switch K. Length of the rod =15 cm, B =0.50 T, resistance of the closed loop containing the rod 9.0 m Omega . Assume the field to be uniform. (a) Suppose K is open and the rod is moved with a speed of 12 "cm s"^(-1) in the direction shown. Give the polarity and magnitude of the induced emf. (b) Is there an excess charge built up at the ends of the rods when K is open ? What if K is closed ? (c) With K open and the rod moving uniformly, there is no net force on the electrons in the rod PQ even though they do experience magnetic force due to the motion of the rod. Explain. (d) What is the retarding force on the rod when K is closed ? How much power is required (by an external agent) to keep the rod moving at the same speed (= 12 cm s^(-1) ) when K is closed ? How much power is required when K is open? (f)How much power is dissipated as heat in the closed circuit ? What is the source of this power ? (g) What is the induced emf in the moving rod if the magnetic field is parallel to the rails instead of being perpendicular ?

A fly wheel starts rotating from rest and acquires rotational speed of 360 revolution s^(-1) in 3 minutes. The average angular acceleration is…………..

According to a FIR in police station, car A was at rest waiting for a red light at a crossing when it was hit by similar car B from rear side. Both cars had then hard brekes on, and from their skid marks it is surmiesed that they skidded together about 8m in the original direction of travel before coming to rest. Assuming a stopping force of about 0.4 times the combined weights of the cars. the speed of car B just before the collision is approximately [g=10 m//s^(2)]

A hammer of mass 1 kg moving with speed of 6 ms^(-1) strikes a wall and comes to rest in 0.1 s . Calculate (i) the impules of force (ii) the retardation of the hammer , and (iii) the retarding that stops the hammer .

A disk rotates about its central axis starting from rest and accelerates with constant angular acceleration At one instant it is rotating at 12 rad/s and after 80 radian of more angular displacement. its angular speed becomes 28 rad/s. How much time (seconds) does the disk takes to complete the mentioned angular displacement of 80 radians.
