The half-life period of a substance is 50 minutes at a certain concentration. When the concentration is reduced to one half of the initial concentration, the half-life period is 25 minutes. Calculate order of the reaction.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
zero order

On reducing the concentration to one half, the value of half life `(t_(0.5))` becomes one half of the original value or `t_(0.5)` is directly proportional to the initial concentration. Hence, the reaction is a zero order reaction.
