What is a shadow and why the house fly does not cast a shadow on the ground while flying ?

Shadow is the dark region formed behind an opaque body when it is placed in the path of light .
We cannot find a flying house fly shadow on the ground , because it is formed in the air . Unless we keep a screen there , we cannot find it .
