An ecosystem is a group of interdependent ele ments, both living or non-living things, present at a certain place. So, a large number of various living things such as animals and plants, and non-living things such as stones, water resources and soil depending on one another comprise a forest. Similarly, in a pond, living and non-living things are not present in a big range as in a forest, but still they are there with interdependency on each other, and thus, comprise an ecosystem.
