A car is moving along a semicircular track ashsown in the figure in a duration of `2pi` second from P to Q. then choose the correct statement (s).

A

The distance covered by the car is 14 m.

B

The average velocity of the car is 2.23 m `s^(-1)`.

C

The average speed of the car is `3.5ms^(-1)`.

D

Both (b) and ( c)

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

Time taken to travel = `2pirs`
Total distance travelled

`(d)=(2pir)/2=pir`
= `pi(7)`
= `7pim`
Average speed of the car = `(7pi)/(2pi)=3.5ms^(-1)`
Average velocity = `("total displacement")/("total time taken")=((7+7))/(2pi)`
= `(14xx7)/(2xx22)`
= `49/22ms^(-1)`
`2.23ms^(-1)`
