Which of the following distance-time graphs is not possible? Explain why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In graph-I the distance travelled by the body is not changing with time. Thus, the body is at rest. In graph-II distance travelled by the body decreases with time. It is not possible. In graph-III the body has different distances at the same time. This graph is also not possible. In graph-IV the distance increases with time. Therefore, the body is moving with a uniform speed. Thus, the graphs 2 and 3 are not possible.
