Out of `BaCl_2` and `KCI, -------- `is more effective in causing coagulation of a negatively charged colloidal

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

According to Hardy-Schulze rule, greater the valency of the flocculating ion added to the colloid, greater is its power to cause coagulation. Hence, `BaCl_2` (i.e. being divalent `Ba^(2+)` ion) is more effective in causing coagulation of negatively charged colloidal sol than monovalent `K^+` ion (i.e.KCI).
