Find the number of solution of the equation `"cos"(cos^(-1)x)=cos e c(cos e c^(-1)x)dot`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`cos (cos^(-1) x) = x " for " x in [-1, 1]`
`cosec(cosec^(-1) x) = x " for " x in (-oo, -1] uu [1, oo]`
`rArr cos (cos^(-1) x) = cosec (cosec^(-1) x) " for " x = +- 1` only.
Hence, there are two roots only
