Prove that `sqrt((1-costheta)/(1+cos theta))=cosectheta-cottheta`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`L.H.S.=sqrt((1+sin theta)/(1-sintheta))=sqrt((1+sin theta+sintheta)/(1-sintheta+sintheta))`
`=sqrt(((1+sintheta)^(2))/(1-sin^2theta))=sqrt((1+sintheta)^2)/(cos^2theta)`
`=(1+sintheta)/costheta=1/costheta+sintheta/costheta`
`=sectheta+tantheta=R.H.S.`
