Why is AIDS called secondary immune deficiency ?

Secondary immune deficiency is the acquired deficiency which is not genetic but caused by some external factors. AIDS which is caused by HIV (retro virus) which destroys T helper cells, and makes immune system deficient, so it is called as secondary immune deficiency.
