What are cry genes? Which organism produces these?

These are the genes found in bacteria Bacillius thuringiensis, which produce an insecticidal crystal protein called as cry protein. There are a number of types of cry genes cry IAC and cry II Ab control the cotton bollworms, while cry I Ab control the com borer.
These genes are introduced into many crop plants like cotton (BL-cotton) to make it resistant against bollworms.
