As these are used as refrigerant, these enters our atmosphere and from there they diffuses unchanged into the stratosphere. In stratosphere they are responsible for the radical chain reaction, which is ultimately responsible for disturbing natural ozone balance.

From the resonating structures it is clear that in case of aryl halides due to the resonance there is creation of partial double bond between C-X which makes aryl halides less reactive but in alkyl halide they are not resonance stablbalise and so C-X bond is less stable and hence alkyl halides are more reactive.
