Explain the following A transistor is a ...

Explain the following A transistor is a temperature - senstive device.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In a transistor, charge carriers are free electrons and holes. Current in the transistor is due to these carriers. When temperature of the transistor increases, covalent bonds break up and large number of electron -hole pairs are generated and current will increase in the transistor. More heat is produced due to this current and this excess heat causes complete breakdown of transistor.
