If the emitter and base of n-p-n transistor have same doping concentration, explain, how will the collector and base currents be affected.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If the emitter and base of n-p-n transistor have same doping concentration, then most of electron-hole recombination takes place in the base region and very small or no charge carriers reach upto collector. As a result collector current and hence the current gain reduces considerably.
