In cold concentries, a solution of water and ethylene glycol is used as coolant in an automobile engine radiator instead of water. Explain

Aqueous solutions which do not freeze at `0^(@) C ` are called antifreeze solutions. When a non-valatile solute (like ethylene glycol) is added to water, it decreases its freezing point. Such solutions freeze at a temperature below `0^(@) C ` As we know water is used in radiators of vehicles for cooling . However , if the vehicle is to be used at high altitude where the temperature often falls below zero, water would freeze . To avoid this difficulty antifreeze solutions are used as coolant in radiators of cards and buses.
