Thermosetting polymer

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Thermosetting polymers. These are polymers, which during moulding (by heating etc) get hardened and once they have set, they cannot be softened i.e., they are permanent setting polymers. Such polymers during moulding acquire three-dimensional cross-linked structure with strong covalent bonds. For example, Bakelite, Melamine etc.
