If `I_(0)` is the intensity of the pricipal maximum in the single slit diffraction pattern, then what will be its intensity when the slit width is doubled ?

The correct Answer is:
C

`I=I_(0)((sintheta)/(theta))^(2)` and `theta=(pi)/(lamda)((ay)/(D))`
for principal maximum `y=0,theta=0`
Hence, intensity will remain same i.e., `I=I_(0)`
