As shown in the figure a particle is placed at O in front of a plane mirror M . A man of P can move along patyh PY and PY' then which of the following is true?

A

For all points on PY man can see the image of O

B

For all points on PY' man can see the image , but for no point on PY he can the image of O

C

For all points on PY' he can see the image but on PY he can see the image only upto distance d.

D

He can see the image only upto a distance d on either side of P.

The correct Answer is:
C

Field fo view of image is decided by the reflected rays. As we can see that the reflected rays from the extreme end points of mirror at a height 'd' from P and below P all points on PY'. Hence (C).

A massive horizontal platform is moving horizontally with a constant acceleration of 10 m//s^(2) as shown in the figure. A particle P of mass m=1 kg is kept at rest on a smooth surface as shown in the figure. The particle is hinged at O with the help of a massless rod OP of length 0.9 m. Hinge O is fixed on the platform and the rod can freely rotate about O. Now the particle P is imparted a velocity in the opposite direction of the platform's acceleration such that it is just able to complete the circular motion about point O. Then the maximum tension (in N) appearing in the rod during the motion is 10 n. Find the value of n
