`(1)/(f) = (1)/(v) - (1)/(u) = (1)/(12) - (1)/((-240)) implies f = (240)/(21)`

Shift = `h(1 - (1)/(mu)) = 1 (1- (1)/(1.5)) = (1)/(3) cm`
To get image at film, lens should form image at distance = `12 - (1)/(3) = (35)/(3) , (1)/(v) - (1)/(u)`
`implies (21)/(240) = (3)/(35) - (1)/(u) implies u = -560 cm`
