Anti Markownikov rule or peroxide effect applies to the addition of HBr only and not to the addition of HCI or HI give reason.

Because peroxide initiated addition is run by free radical mechanism which involves following steps: i) Production of `X^@` by the attack of `RO^@ ` on HX. ii) Attack of `X^@ ` on alkene to produce stable alkyl free radical. Both the steps are exothermic in case of addition of HBr only. Hence peroxide effect applies to the addition of HBr only rather than HCl or HI.
