The rate of a zero reaction does not change with time. Explain.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Consider a zero order reactions
`2NH_3(g) overset(Pt)(rarr)N_2(g)+3H_2(g)`
Here rate = `k[NH_3]^(O)`=k
Thus rate of reaction is equal to rate constant. In such a case the rate of reaction will not change with the concentration of reactant i.e., `NH_3`, with time. In other words, the rate of a zero order reaction does not change with time.
