Ketones do not undergo Cannizzaro.s reaction. Only those aldehydes undergo Cannizzaro.s reaction which do not have `alpha`-hydrogen e.g., formaldehyde or methanal (HCHO) benzaldehyde `(C_(6)H_(5)CHO)` etc.
