A lamp is connected in series with a capacitor. What will happen if d.c.or a.c. is connected to current?

The resistance offered by the capacitor to the flow of current is given by
`X_C =1/(omegaC)=1/(2pivC)`
For d.c. v = 0, so `X_C=oo`.
Since capacitor offers infinite resistance to the flow of d.c., so d.c. cannot pass through the capacitor. Hence the bulb will not glow.
