Why should an ammeter have a low resistance?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

An ammeter is always connected in series in an electric circuit to measure the current. IF the resistance of an ammeter is not low, the current in the circuit will decrease on connecting it in the circuit. That is why an ammeter should have as low resistance as possible.
