How does the flow of acid rain water into a river make the survival of aquatic life in the river difficult ?

Acid rain water when flows into the river the pH of river water changes which makes the aquatic life difficult to survive .The pH range suitable for aduatic survival is 7 . 0 to 7.8 but due to acid rain pH of water decreases .
