The wave function `Psi` for an electron in an atom has no physical significance as such. But the square of the amplitude of the electron wave, i.e., `Psi^(2)` at any point given the intensity of the electron wave at that point which in view of Heisenberg.s uncertainty principle means probability of finding electrons at that point. i.e., electron density at that point.
