Assertion: The rate of change of momentum
Reason: Speed is a constant in uniform circular motion

A

IF both assertion and reason are true and reason is the correct explanation of assertion

B

If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion

C

If assertion is true but reason is false

D

If assertion is false but reason is true

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
D

An external centripetal force is required to move an object uniformly in a circular path . The speed remains same and thus the magnitude of change in momentum, `Delta p` is zero. But the rate of change of momentum `((Delta p)/(Delta t))` is not zero.
