Temperature of I mole of a gas is increased by `1^(@)`at constant pressure. Work done is

A

2 cal

B

3 cal

C

4 cal

D

5 cal

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

At temp T, PV = RT
When temp. is increased by `1 ^(@),` at constant pressure, suppose volume increases by `Delta V`
`therefore P ( V+ Delta V) = R ( T +1) or PV + P Delta V= RT + R`
But `PV = RT therefore PDelta V = R , ie., ` work done `= R = 2 cal.`
