Each of the capacitors shown n figure has a capacitance of 2 microFarad . Find the equivalent capacitance of the assembly between the points A and B . Suppose ,a battery of end of emf 60 volts is is connected between A and B .Find the potential difference appearing on the individual capacitors .

Text Solution

`C = 2 mu F`
In the system the capacitance are arranged in series then the capacitance is parallel to each other .
(a) The equation of capacitance in one row
` C = 0`
(b) And 3 capacitance of capacity ` C / 3` are connected in parallel
The equivalent capacitance ` C = 2 mu F `,
As the volt capacitance on each row are same and individual is
` = 20 V`
