Two capacitor of capacitance `4.0muF `and `6.0muF` are connected in series with a battery of 20 V . Find the energy supplied by the battery .

`C_1 = 4 muF, C_2 = 6 mu F , V = 20 V`
The Equivalent capacitance `C_eq = 2.4 mu F`
The energy supplied by the battery to each palte
` E = Cv^(2) `
`= (2.4 / 2 ) xx (20)^(2)`
`= (1.2) xx 400 = 480 mu J` The energy supplied by the battery to capacitor `= 2 xx 480 = 960 mu J`
