A motor car is travelling at 30 ms on a circular curve of radius 500 m. It is increasing its speed at the rate of 2 `ms^(-2)`, what is its acceleration ?

A

`2ms^(-2)`

B

`1.8ms^(-2)`

C

`2.7ms^(-2)`

D

None of these

The correct Answer is:
C

Here the body has two accelation at any instant. The centripetal accelation
`a_(c)=(v^(2))/(r )=((30)^(2))/(500)=1.8ms^(_2)` net acceleration `a=sqrt(a_(c)^(2)+a_(1)^(2))=sqrt((2)^(2)+(1.8)^(2))` =2.7m`s^(-2)`
