Find from the definition of derivative ...

Find from the definition of derivative
f'(1) if `f(x)=x^2-2x+3`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given,` f(x)=x^2-2x+3`
`therefore f.(1)=lim_(xrarr1)(f(x)-f(1))/(x-1)`
`=lim_(xrarr1)((x^2-2x+3)-2)/(x-1) [becausef(1)=1^2-2.1+3]`
`=lim_(xrarr1)(x^2-2x+1)/(x-1)`
`=lim_(xrarr1)(x-1)^2/(x-1)`
`=lim_(xrarr1)(x-1)`
