A body of mass 60 kg is pushed up with just enough force to start it moving on a rough surface with `mu_(s) = 0.5` and `mu_(k) = 0.4` and the force continues to act afterwards. What is the acceleration of the body ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`m=60 kg , mu_(s)=0.5, mu_(k)=0.4`
Force `f=ma=m(mu_(s)-mu_(k))g`
`therefore a=(mu_(s)-mu_(k))g`
`=(0.5-0.4)9.8=0.98 m//s^(2)`
