A cylinder of height h is filled with water and is kept on a block of height `h/2.` The level of water in the cylinder is kept constnat. Four holes numbered `1,2,3,` and 4 are at the side of the cylinder and at heights `0,. h/4, h/2 and (3h)/(4)` respectively. When all four hles are opened together, the hole from which water will reach farthest distnace on the plane PQ is the hole no.

The correct Answer is:
C

`R= u_e sqrt((2h)/(g))`
(1) `u_(e1)=sqrt(2gh), t_1=0 rarr R_1=0`
(2) `U_(e2)=sqrt(2g xx (3h)/(4)), t_2=sqrt((2xxh/4)/(g))=sqrt((h)/(2g))`
`R_2=sqrt((3hg)/(2)xx(h)/(2g))=h sqrt(3/4)`
(3) `u_(e3)=sqrt(2g xx h/4), t_3=sqrt((2h)/(4g))`
`R_3=sqrt(2g xx h/4 xx (3h)/(4g))=h sqrt(3/8)`
(4) `u_(e4)=0, t=sqrt((2h)/(g)) rarr R_4 = 0`
