Find the critical points(s) and stationa...

Find the critical points(s) and stationary points (s) of the function `f(x)=(x-2)^(2//3)(2x+1)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We have `f(x) =(x-2)^(2//3)(2x+1)`
`f(x) =2(x-2)^(2//3)+(2)/(3)(2x+1)/(x-2)^(1//3)`
`=[(6(x-2)+(2)(2x+1))/((3))](1)/(x-2)^(1//3)`
`=(2(5x-5))/(3(x-2)^(1//3))`
`f(x)` does not exist at `x=2` and `f(x) =0` at `x=1`
`x=1 , 2` are critical points and `x =1` is stationary point.
